Library programs, book clubs, reader’s advisory, AARP tax assistance, and computer classes are available at the library. For those who have barriers in getting to the library, at-home service is available for residents within the city limits of Baytown.

Home Delivery

For seniors unable to get to the library, the Home Delivery Program to Senior Care facilities allow readers to enjoy library materials on an ongoing basis. Staff bring a variety of materials in various formats. Residents choose from a selection of old time favorites to current bestsellers. Requests for library materials and information are taken and made available at the next visit.

  • How to receive home delivery services and eligibility
  • Senior citizens lacking transportation or those who are homebound due to health reasons and live within Baytown city limits are eligible for home delivery. Contact the Extension Services Department at 281 427-7331, select option 3, for more information.

  • Baytown Resources United Way Agencies - Local agencies and social service providers offering services to residents of Baytown in need of financial, emotional or physical assistance as well as volunteer opportunities for those not in need.
  • City of Baytown Senior/Disabled Transportation - The Senior and Disabled Transportation Programs provide non-emergency transportation services to eligible low/moderate income senior and/or disabled citizens within the city limits of Baytown) and to Houston for medical appointments. Participants are required to prove eligibility and must apply in person at the Community Development Office.
  • City of Baytown Housing Rehabilitation Program - The goal of the Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program is to assist low to moderate-income homeowners with the rehabilitation and conservation of the community's older housing stock. The City of Baytown will award eligible homeowners with grants to cover the cost of repairs and improvements necessary to make the property conform to public standards for decent, safe and sanitary housing as required by applicable codes.
