For the past few weeks, my mind has been living in the 1920s. Amazingly, women’s rights, as we know them, were nearly non-existent just 100 years ago! The following three books have strong female characterization and complex relationships. I enjoyed the journey of each protagonist and was interested in how each found her voice as she broke free from the traditional roles of women in the Roaring Twenties and beyond.
