REGISTRATION

A library card is required to check out materials. To obtain a library card, you must present a government issued photo ID and proof of address (such as a utility bill). If under 17, the child's application must be signed in person by the parent/guardian and the above ID provided. Notify the Library immediately if your card is lost or stolen. Replacement cards cost only $1.

RULES

All Sterling Municipal Library rules and policies apply. The schedule may change without notice. Stops are made twice each month unless otherwise indicated. All items must be returned on the date due to avoid overdue charges. New Library patrons are allowed to check out 2 items the first time. Adults may check out an unlimited number after that, with the exception of a 3 DVD limit per adult. Children without a parent present may check out up to 10 items. Items are due in 21 days. DVDs must be returned to the central library within 7 days to avoid overdue charges.

MISS THE OUTREACH DELIVERY?

You may return your books to the central Library or use the outside book drop on Texas Avenue. After hours, use the outside book drop.

RENEWALS

To renew, you need your library card. Log on to: http://www.sml.lib.tx.us, select My Library Card and follow the directions. To renew by phone, you need your library card. Call: 281/427-7331 and select Option 1. One renewal for most items. One week renewal for videos or DVDs.

FINES

Most overdue items are 10¢ per day per item. Overdue DVDs are $1 per day each.

OVERDUE OR LOST ITEMS

You may pay fines all at once or a little at each visit. You may not check any items out if your unpaid fines and lost materials total $10 or more. There is a $5 processing fee for each lost item. Replacement and processing fees over $20 must be paid in the central Library.
