Parks and Recreation teams work hard to keep Baytown beautiful and that includes city landscaping and median improvements.
WHY This winter, unprecedented freezes killed many plants and damaged irrigation systems in multiple locations leaving garden beds looking less than ideal.
WHAT After individual assessments of every bed, a plan was developed to address various maintenance issues through both internal and external staffing. Work then began on redesigning and replanting median beds on Alexander Dr, Baker Rd, Emmett Hutto Blvd, and San Jacinto Blvd. New plantings were also completed at the Baytown Nature Center's Butterfly Garden.
With these improvements, we have realigned with our goal to keep Baytown beautiful.
