This is a FREE community event where kids can come choose their backpack filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year! This event will help alleviate some of the financial burden on families as they get ready for the first day of school. Students may also receive free haircuts from Sik Kutz Barbershop, until supplies last. Children MUST BE PRESENT with their parent/guardian in order to receive a backpack, one (1) backpack per child. Supplies will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
How Families Qualify
To qualify for free school supplies, families must present proof that their student attends a GCCISD school. Please be prepared to provide staff with your child’s student ID number to determine eligibility.
FREE Rides to the Back-2-School Fair!
Free transportation is available to parents and children needing a ride to the Baytown Community Center the day of the fair. Harris County Transit is offering to wave the fare on Baytown #2 to families making a stop at the festival. For a map and schedule of Baytown Route #2, click here.
What to Expect at the Festival
We will offer school supplies to help lighten the burden of back-to-school shopping. We do our best to supply as many supplies as possible from backpacks, pencils, erasers, and paper.
NOTE: We cannot guarantee that your child will get everything on their school supply list. You may need to purchase additional items based on your child's personal school list. Check your child's school supply list, usually available on their school’s website, to see what additional items you may need to purchase.
We're thrilled to announce that Sik Kutz Barbershop will be offering FREE haircuts to GCCISD students at our upcoming Back-2-School Fair. While we can't guarantee every kid will get one, Sik Kutz will do their best to provide as many haircuts as possible in that time limit. FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.
Local agencies will be on hand to offer information about beneficial programs and services.
Sponsorship Opportunities are Still Available!
