Law Enforcement Explorers Post

Program Overview

Law Enforcement Explorers is a hands-on program open to young men and women of the Goose Creek Consolidated School District who have completed the 8th grade (14-20 years old), interested in a career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminal justice system. Explorers offer experiential learning with fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of youth. Explorers are instructed in a variety of police-related topics that include: Building Search, Felony Traffic Stops, Crime Scene Search, Accident Investigation, Misdemeanor Traffic Stops, Domestic Crisis Intervention and Arrest and Search Techniques. Explorers also receive instruction in character building, self-motivation, and confidence-building.

Baytown Police Explorer Post 1255 recruits young men and women in good standing in the community and in their school. Additional requirements include good moral habits with no arrest or conviction records for serious offenses, a “C” average or better in school, and parental approval (for those under 18 years of age). Baytown Police Explorer Post 1255 shall not deny membership to any individual based on race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, or sexual preference.

Meetings

Law Enforcement Explorers meet every Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Baytown Police Academy and Training Center, 203 E. Wye Dr., Baytown, TX 77521
