National Night Out

About National Night Out

The Baytown Police Department will host a Block Party for this year’s National Night Out campaign. The Block Party will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, at Town Square.   The event is free and open to everyone.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides an excellent opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Millions of neighbors participate in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide. Texas and select areas celebrate on the first Tuesday in October.

All residents, neighborhood organizations, and neighborhood watch groups are encouraged to participate in this year’s campaign by either hosting a neighborhood block party or attending the police department’s block party at Town Square. The Baytown Police and Fire Department will have several specialized units on hand for you to visit and talk with its members. Specialized units will include K9, SWAT, Dive Team, Bomb Squad, Bike Patrol, Drone Unit, and more. Festivities will include food, live music, games, and much more. (To best utilize time spent with the community, the police department will have most of its resources at the Town Square block party. There will be a limited number of Police personnel out visiting the different block parties).

For those wishing to host block parties in their neighborhoods, the department’s Crime Prevention Division will have a yard sign to announce your party. To receive a yard sign for your event, you must register for your block party.
