Get a Library Card

  • Apply in person at Sterling Municipal Library
    • First card is free
    • Anyone is eligible with a government-issued picture ID that includes date of birth
    • You don't need to live in Baytown
    • You are responsible for all materials checked out with your card
    • Under 18? A parent or guardian can bring in their ID and sign for the account
  • Has your card expired?
    • Cards expire every three years. 
    • Contact library services 281 427-7331 x2 or let us know when you visit.
  • How much can you check out?
    • 12 items at first
    • 25 items once established (check out 15 items, AND after 3 months)
  • Lost the card?
    • Report it right away
    • Replacement cards are $1.00 or check out with your ID
  • Owe a late fee?
    • You can still check out unless fines exceed $10.00
    • Once total owed is less than $10.00, you can check out again.
    • Fee says "Library Charge" in My Account? Contact the library for the title.
