The Business Improvement Grant (BIG) program is a matching, reimbursement-based grant program that reimburses commercial property owners or business operators for Eligible Improvements made to their Property. Grants available under this program are reimbursable for an amount up to 50 percent of the total expenses for Eligible Improvements, with a maximum reimbursement not to exceed the participation limitations set forth in the program policy and guidelines.

Grant Application
Applications must be submitted online, through the Citizen Self Service (CSS) Online Portal. Because of multi-department reviews, applications may take 45-60 days to be considered by the MDD Board. The MDD Board meets on the first Thursday of the month.
Pre-Application Meeting
You may email mdd@baytown.org to schedule a Pre-Application Meeting to review the program and application requirements prior to submitting an application in the CSS portal. Appointments will be available beginning May 1, 2023.
